Mother's Union
Trentham Mothers’ Union is part of the large worldwide charity working to empower women in their own communities, and supporting families in times of need. We are active in 83 countries and have an incredibly large membership working locally and globally. We provide funds to support literacy and numeracy in countries around the world, so women can run successful businesses. In the U.K we provide holidays for those in need, and support projects in our own communities. In Trentham we provide for the baby units, the local Women's refuge, socially isolated farmers and write Christmas cards to prisoners in the nine prisons across our Diocese. We also campaign with the whole country to eradicate gender violence in all its forms. We work closely with other Womens charities to lobby parliament to deal with this. There have seen many successes over the years since 1876 when Mary Sumner, the wife of a Trentham Vicar, began the movement.
Everything we do is preceded by ,and sealed by, prayer.
